

Online optimisation is about augmenting the effectiveness of your online operations.
It is about maximising the impact of your operations upon your target audiences, bringing every greater profitability to your enterprise.
How that is to be achieved depends upon the character of your enterprise, your audiences, and what you seek to achieve, but one thing is clear: the internet provides unparralled opportunities to influence and guide customer relationships and behaviours as never before.
The trick is to know how to do that effectively.
For the uninitiated, the language of online world can be obscure and confusing. Terms of art and three letter acronyms abound in what might be seen as an attempt to obfuscate, confound, and befuddle.
What I want to do in this brief piece is to blow away a bit of the fog and provide a structure on which to hang your thinking about 'Online Optimisation'. I am not saying this taxonomy will be comprehensive, but I am hoping it will be helpful.
